Amy Gernon works as a court-appointed neutral and is a board member of the Academy of Court-Appointed Neutrals. Her practice focuses on multidistrict litigation (MDL) and class action matters, with a concentration on designing processes and settlements for the benefit of all stakeholders. She is currently administrating the NHL Retired Players Concussion Settlement and serving as a special master for the In re: Acetaminophen – ASD-ADHD Products Liability MDL.
Amy previously practiced at Faegre Baker Daniels and a boutique litigation firm in Minneapolis. She was a law clerk to Judge Richard H. Kyle, Judge Joan N. Ericksen, and Judge Donovan W. Frank in the District of Minnesota, including serving as Judge Frank’s career law clerk during the Guidant MDL. She was also an in-house counsel for a large settlement administrator and has supported arbitrators on a variety of matters. In addition, Amy has experience advocating for students under Title IX, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and special education laws. She graduated from Grinnell College and the University of Michigan Law School.
